Supernatural season 9, episode 9 “Holy Terror” airs tonight, with the machinations of various angel factions coming to a head.

The Road So Far

Dean made a deal with Ezekiel, a wounded angel, to save a dying Sam. Ezekiel possessed Sam to heal him from within, while also healing himself. But while Sam is unaware of Ezekiel’s presence, he is increasingly less convinced by Dean’s cover stories about Ezekiel-related occurrences.

On the demonic front, the Winchesters captured Crowley. After trading his translation skills for a call to Hell, Crowley stole a syringe of Kevin’s blood and started injecting himself with it. Meanwhile, Abaddon has been building an army and voiding 10-year demon deals in her quest to take over Hell.

Castiel, on the other hand, is angelic enemy number one after the fall. After the Winchesters saved Cas from a Reaper, Ezekiel gave Dean an ultimatum: Cas leaves the bunker or Ezekiel leaves Sam, thus condemning him to death. After being kicked out of the bunker, Cas took on a human identity, where he has found a measure of peace with his humanity.
