The CW has released a synopsis for Supernatural season 9, episode 7, “Bad Boys,” featuring a new look into Dean’s past.

The CW’s official press release teasing November sweeps episodes had the following information about the episode:

YOUNG DEAN — Dean (Jensen Ackles) gets a call from an old friend named Sonny (guest star Blake Gibbons) asking for help with a ghost. Sonny runs a home for delinquent boys, and Dean was sent there for stealing food when he was younger. Sam (Jared Padalecki) is stunned he never knew this about his brother and asks for more information, but Dean dodges his questions. Another murder occurs while Sam and Dean are at the house, so they scramble to find the culprit before anyone else dies. Meanwhile, Dean looks up an old girlfriend (guest star Erin Karpluk) and recalls his time at the house. Kevin Parks directed the episode written by Adam Glass.

It will be interesting to find out a story from Dean’s childhood that Sam was unaware of, considering their closeness as children. Did a young Dean have to steal food because he and Sam ran out of food while John was on a hunt? And what does Dean have to hide about that time from Sam?

We’re also curious to see when this backstory takes place. If we had to guess, we’d put our money on it being when Sam was still quite young so he would have no memory of something like this happening.

Note: Now updated with the full synopsis.

Supernatural season 9, episode 7 “Bad Boys” airs Tuesday, November 19 at 9:00 p.m. ET on The CW.
