The CW has released the synopsis for Supernatural season 9, episode 3, titled “I’m No Angel.”

The official press release has the following information about Supernatural season 9, episode 3:

CASTIEL IS HUNTED BY THE ANGELS — Ezekiel tells Dean (Jensen Ackles) a group of angels is hunting Castiel (Misha Collins). Dean and Sam (Jared Padalecki) race to find their friend before the angels do. Meanwhile, a homeless Castiel is trying to make his way through the city and comes across some unexpected surprises. Kevin Hooks directed the episode written by Brad Buckner & Eugenie Ross-Leming (#903).

Ezekiel, as you may recall, is an angel who was injured in the fall. He is played by Battlestar Galactica alum Tahmoh Penikett.

It appears from this synopsis that whatever relationship Dean strikes up with Ezekiel to save Sam in the season premiere will be an ongoing plot point. Perhaps Ezekiel is looking to make allies of the Winchesters with the power vacuum that now exists among both angels and demons?

As for Castiel, who was missing from the season 9, episode 2 synopsis, we know that he will be dealing with his new-found humanity. No doubt his loss of powers will make him an easy target without the Winchesters to back him up.

Supernatural season 9, episode 3 “I’m No Angel” airs Tuesday, October 22 at 9:00 p.m. ET on The CW.
