Supernatural season 9, episode 2 “Devil May Care” airs tonight, featuring the return of our favorite demons, Crowley and Abaddon.

The Road So Far

Supernatural‘s ninth season got off to a shocking start last week as Dean risked everything to save Sam, who was in a coma after aborting the third trial to seal the gates of Hell.

Dean formed an unlikely alliance with Ezekiel, an angel who was wounded in the fall, for his brother’s life. Ezekiel ended up possessing Sam to heal him from within, while also healing himself. However, because Sam was likely to eject Ezekiel if he was aware of his presence, Ezekiel erased his memories of the coma and Dean agreed to keep Sam’s angelic hitchhiker a secret.

Meanwhile, Castiel was left on his own. Newly human, he ran into a fallen angel, Hael, who wanted to take over his vessel. Castiel killed her before she could alert the other angels to his location, but it became clear that he is enemy number one for many of the fallen angels.
