According to the synopsis, Supernatural season 8, episode 22 “Clip Show” will revolve around the Winchesters’ pasts. The brothers reunited with Castiel at the end of the previous episode when they found him lying in the middle of the road after being tortured by Naomi and Crowley.
Together, the three look “through the Men of Letters’ files” and “stumble upon an undiscovered film which could be the key to the third trial.” Kevin revealed in the previous episode that the third trial is to cure a demon.
In the clip above, Dean and Sam are talking with a priest about a demon who killed a friend of his. Sam’s condition continues to deteriorate, but Dean tells the priest that he has absolute faith that his brother is going to succeed in locking all the demons away permanently.
Meanwhile in the episode, “Metatron enlists Cas to mull over problems at home” and “Crowley digs into Sam and Dean’s past.”
Crowley’s interest in the brothers’ pasts is further explored in the promo:
We previously reported that this episode will feature the return of several familiar faces, including two from season 1. Crowley claims to be looking for people the Winchesters saved to kill them.
Also notable in the preview is the return of Abaddon, the demon who followed Henry Winchester through time to destroy the Men of Letters. Abaddon was immune to the demon-killing knife, so the Winchesters shot her in the head with a bullet engraved with a devil’s trap and decapitated her. They planned to bury her body in concrete, but it looks like someone uncovered her.
