On Supernatural season 10, episode 11, “There’s No Place Like Home,” Charlie Bradbury returned…with a twist. We look at our favorite moments with her dark side.

Upon reuniting with the Winchesters, Charlie reveals that while in Oz, she made a deal with the Wizard to become a hero — only, as deals do on Supernatural, it had unexpected consequences. Charlie ended up split between her good and dark halves.

Seeing “wouldn’t hurt a hobbit, practically sparkles” Charlie going dark was definitely interesting. We look at our favorite moments of Charlie’s dark side:

‘Should’ve known Rocket and Groot would track me down.’

Charlie plus a Guardians of the Galaxy reference is already gold, but when we consider how apt the comparison is? Perfection.

Besting Dean in a fight

Source

Dean, in chasing after Charlie before knowing about her split halves, was clearly not expecting some fighting ability from his surrogate little sister. Charlie’s moves are awesome enough, but Dean’s reaction makes the entire exchange priceless.

Bonus: Charlie’s darker side couldn’t resist coming back to literally kick a man while he was down before taking off.

‘You Winchester boys and your talk.’

Charlie clearly knows the brothers well. She nails the Winchester brother dynamic here.

Charlie takes revenge

While we don’t condone murder, the fact that dark Charlie was trying to bring her good half closer by going after the drunk driver who killed her parents is powerful. Charlie lost everything the night her parents were in the accident and has carried the guilt with her since her childhood, so it makes sense one of her deepest desires might be some vigilante justice against the driver. It’s a story that brings added depth to a character we only see sparingly.

Charlie vs. the Impala

No, we’re not rooting for damaging or hotwiring Baby. Rather, we’re appreciating that going after the Impala is a clear sign of evilness. Demon Dean was neglectful of the car and now dark Charlie strikes a couple of low blows of her own. Stealing the car also forces Dean to steal a minivan, which adds insult to injury.

Charlie vs. Dean round 2

Dean, spurred on by the bloodlust of the Mark of Cain, definitely gets the upperhand in this contest. However, it’s still a pleasant surprise to see Charlie using some combat moves clearly learned in Oz to hold her own against an experienced hunter. Not to mention, dark Charlie quips with the best of them.

I knew it. The magic was in you all the time.’

Source

When dark Charlie realizes that good Charlie killed someone, she makes a statement reminiscent of Ruby in “Lucifer Rising” when she tells Sam, “You didn’t need the feather to fly. You had it in you the whole time, Dumbo.” Of course, this also tops off the parallel between Charlie and Dean. A character dealing with the consequences of going dark side? Charlie truly is an honorary Winchester.
