Watch a short clip from the Supernatural season 10 premiere, titled “Black.”

Supernatural season 9 ended with Dean becoming a demon and disappearing. In the clip below, we see Sam on his search for his wayward brother:

Over the summer, executive producer Jeremy Carver teased, “Sam is so invested in finding his brother that it leads him to do some questionable things that will make him and, certainly, the audience wonder which one of these guys is the true monster.”

The clip above shows Sam evoking the Sam of season 3’s “Mystery Spot,” which Carver also wrote, as he tortures a demon for information on Crowley and/or Dean. The clip closes with Sam collecting the demon’s blood to force her to make a call via blood phone for information.

The official synopsis for Supernatural season 10, episode 1, “Black,” reads:

“DEAN IS LIVING IT UP AS A DEMON WHILE SAM HITS ROCK BOTTOM IN THE SEARCH FOR HIS BROTHER — Dean (Jensen Ackles) is a demon and running amuck with Crowley (Mark Sheppard) while Sam (Jared Padalecki) tries to figure out what happened to his brother. Meanwhile, Castiel (Misha Collins) is dealing with his diminishing grace. Robert Singer directed the episode written by Jeremy Carver (#1002).”

Be sure to check out the official poster, episode stills, and promo from the season premiere as well.
