Jared Padalecki has offered some intriguing spoilers about Misha Collins’ imminent return to Supernatural, while CW president Mark Pedowitz weighs in on whether fans can expect a renewal!

Let’s start with the renewal update, to calm you down! E! Online has spoken to Mark Pedowitz, and while there is no official word yet, it’s looking good for our boys and their lonely road:

We are considering everything for next year. We have made no determinations on any of our shows. [But] I’m very happy with how Supernatural has done this year, in terms of ratings and production.

He even goes so far as to suggest that Supernatural could go on for “many, many years” if the series continues to have juice! So… maybe they shouldn’t have been so quick to kill off the entire supporting cast huh?!

But speaking of that supporting cast, Misha Collins will be returning as Castiel and that’s definitely something fans are looking forward to. But Jared Padalecki warns us not to expect roses and sunshine (or… whatever):

He doesn’t come back as Castiel per say. When he and the boys see each other, it’s not like, ‘Oh, Sam and Dean!’ ‘Oh, Castiel!’ It’s amnesia of sorts. He’s still got great powers and we seek him out because we have an inkling that something’s going on. I think Castiel, like Bobby, they can’t come back as the good ol’ Castiel and the good ol’ Bobby because the audience starts to not take seriously what’s going on.

Amnesia?! We could make some kind of Soap-ernatural joke here but we actually like the show and are unashamedly intrigued by this plot twist. Stay tuned!
