Supernatural won’t air a new episode tonight, November 25, but we’re looking at what is coming up for the veteran drama.

Last week’s episode of Supernatural was a monster of the week adventure that featured the return of Sheriff Donna Hanscum. This week, the Winchesters will be taking a break for Thanksgiving before returning with a new episode next Wednesday, December 2.

The CW will air Planes, Trains, and Automoblies at 8:00 p.m. ET instead,

The synopsis for Supernatural season 11, episode 8, “Just My Imagination,” reads:

“RICHARD SPEIGHT, JR. DIRECTS; NATE TORRENCE GUEST STARS — Sam (Jared Padalecki) is shocked when his childhood imaginary friend Sully (guest star Nate Torrence) makes an unexpected appearance. Sam can’t understand why he’d see Sully now but what’s even more surprising is that Dean (Jensen Ackles) can see him, too. Flashbacks reveal young Sam’s friendship with Sully and why he needed him. Richard Speight, Jr. directed the episode written by Jenny Klein (#1108).”

Richard Speight, Jr., as fans may know, played The Trickster/archangel Gabriel in earlier seasons of Supernatural.

The Supernatural mid-season finale, titled “O Brother Where Art Thou?,” will air on Wednesday, December 9. The synopsis for that episode reads:

“AMARA UNLEASHES HER POWER UPON THE WORLD — Amara (guest star Emily Swallow) unleashes her power on the local townspeople as she issues a shocking challenge. Dean (Jensen Ackles) tries to better understand the hold Amara has on him, while Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Crowley (Mark Sheppard) come up with a plan that could have disastrous consequences. Robert Singer directed the episode written by Eugenie Ross-Leming & Brad Buckner (#1109).”

Supernatural returns with a new episode on Wednesday, December 2 at 9:00 p.m. ET on The CW.
