In a surprising move, The CW will air Supernatural on Wednesday nights next season. Jared Padalecki addresses the move and teases the finale in a new interview. Mild spoilers ahead.

The network revealed earlier today during the Upfronts that Supernatural will start airing on Wednesday nights to boost ratings for the new superhero series Arrow. The latter show will kick off the evening at 8/7c, with Supernatural following at 9/8c (so at least the time is the same as before).

Padalecki joked to Zap2It, “Hey guys, we’re on Wednesdays. Y’all can all go out drinking again.”

He moves on to discuss tomorrow night’s finale and what he hopes to see next season:

You’ll see why tomorrow, but we’re going to have a wonderful opportunity to see the brothers apart, and I hope, I hope, I hope we take advantage of it I think [seeing them apart is] awesome because you get to strengthen the characters, so when they do come back together they have something to share. I hope we do it.

Finally, he cautions that the finale will mean saying goodbye to “more than one beloved character,” and that, “we see one brother specifically in a really sticky situation.”

We’re losing Bobby aren’t we? Again. Support circle time, you guys.
