Jared Padalecki gives a bit more information about what fans can expect from Supernatural season 11, episode 4, “Baby.”

The episode, which will be penned by fan-favorite writer Robbie Thompson (whose writing credits include season 7’s “Slash Fiction” and “The Girl with the Dungeons and Dragons Tattoo” as well as the 200th episode, “Fan Fiction”), is “done in a very clever Supernatural way,” Padalecki tells Entertainment Weekly.

He adds, “We’ve had this third lead character for 10 seasons strong” so the goal of “Baby” is to show “just how much a part of the Winchesters’ lives it is.”

The Impala, which originally belonged to John Winchester, has been a constant companion for the Winchesters over the years and was even instrumental in averting the apocalypse.

As for what we can expect from the episode, fans can get excited, as a car wash scene will be included because, Padaleki says, “We gotta keep her clean.”

But what else is there to look for? “[There’s] a bit of everything: the obligatory Sam-and-Dean-talk-over-the-hood-of-the-Impala, or Sam-and-Dean-talk-in-the-Impala.” Or, in the vocabulary of the 200th episode, the Boy Melodrama scene.

Additionally, the episode will also be tracing some of the car’s history in the series. Says Padalecki, “You kind of see the Impala in work in all these scenes from seasons past where we haven’t necessarily known where it is or known how it got there.”

Overall, the episode will focus on “just how crucial a character it is.”

Supernatural season 11 premieres Wednesday, October 7 at 9:00 p.m. ET on The CW.
