In a new video, Supernatural star Jared Padalecki hints at what is to come in season 9.

In this Facebook exclusive, Padalecki discusses the most memorable part of season 8 and what we can look forward to in Supernatural season 9:

“A lot did happen in season 8,” Padalecki says. “The biggest part that sticks out to me was filming for three days with Mark Sheppard,” referring to the scenes between Sam and Crowley in the church in the season finale.

“I really found that the script was beating up Sam and Jared. I found myself coming to work like, man, I really felt like I was in pain, and I think it translated on screen.”

He adds, “We saw Sam kind of go through a process where we thought he was going to die and he ended up stopping that process so he didn’t die. But then we saw him collapse in pain.”

As a result, the most exciting part of season 9 for Padalecki is “finding out how Sam got out of this last predicament.”

We have a few hints about how that might happen from promos, episode stills, and the season premiere, titled “I Think I’m Gonna Like It Here,” synopsis.

Teasing the new season, Padalecki says, “Season 9 is our best season in a long, long, long time.”

What can we look forward to? “We’ve got a lot of cool new characters, some great old throwback characters, and just a really great, strong storyline.”

Padalecki concludes, “So I’m really excited to have that on our new night where hopefully people tune in and remember what the show is all about.”

After all, Supernatural is moving to Tuesdays this fall, paired with The Vampire Diaries spinoff The Originals. The Winchesters hunting evil on Tuesdays? What could go wrong?
