Supernatural is adding Ty Olsson from Battlestar Galactica as a recurring character in season 8. Beware of spoilers.
TV Line reports that Olsson has been cast as Benny, “a dark and dangerous vampire” Dean meets in Purgatory, who (major spoiler alert!) helps him escape.
Jensen Ackles teased Olsson’s role at Comic-Con, saying:
He’s not a good guy. [He] stands to pose a bit of an issue for Dean because maybe there are things that Dean has hidden that he doesn’t want to tell Sam that happened in purgatory.
Whether Dean escapes with or without Castiel is anyone’s guess, with the way this information is worded.
