The CW has released 15 stills from the Supernatural season 9 premiere, titled “I Think I’m Gonna Like It Here.”
These are not our first glimpses of Supernatural‘s ninth season, but they do give us some new images to agonize over as we wait for the season premiere.

In a couple of these photos, we see Sam, Dean, and Bobby in the Impala. It was teased over the summer that Bobby would return in an expected way, and we saw him in a season 9 sneak peek.
We know from previous promos that these shots take place in Sam’s mind, as Sam is unconscious in a hospital, dying from the effects of the aborted trial to shut the gates of Hell.
A few of the shots also depict Dean watching over Sam in the hospital and him putting up sigils on the hospital wall — perhaps Enochian to summon an angel since some of the stills are of Battlestar Galactica alum Tahmoh Penikett as fallen angel Ezekiel, who was injured in the fall from Heaven.
Ezekiel seems to have made some sort of deal with Dean, as he is seen watching over Sam. In the released promos, we have also seen Ezekiel with a hand on each of Sam’s and Dean’s foreheads, so he is likely how Dean finds his way into Sam’s mind.
Supernatural season 9 premieres on Tuesday, October 8 at 9:00 p.m. ET on The CW.
