The CW has released a preview and sneak peek clip of the eighth episode of Supernatural‘s eighth season, “Hunteri Heroici.”
In this clip, we see Sam and Dean in their FBI guises joined by Castiel, who attempts to take the lead in interrogating the wife of a victim. However, when Cas takes it a little too far, Dean reins him in. “I was being bad cop,” Cas says. “You were being bad everything!” Dean replies before telling Cas to watch Sam’s gentler form of questioning.
But the clip takes a turn when another woman, Olivia, stops by to wish the wife sympathy. The wife reveals that she knew her husband was sleeping with Olivia — they had an arrangement that he would see Olivia while the wife was seeing their neighbor. “So she’s not a witch,” Cas says thoughtfully. “She’s the best wife ever,” Dean adds and Sam laughs.
According to the episode synopsis, in this episode, “Castiel tells Sam and Dean that he’s decided to become a hunter like them,” hence the joint interrogation in the clip above.
While “Sam and Dean aren’t sold on the idea,” they “agree to investigate a case Cas found where a man’s heart literally burst through his chest,” a la the cartoon reaction to falling in love. Sam, Dean, and Cas “discover there has been more than one odd murder in the small town and all of them resemble cartoon deaths.”
