The CW has released the official description for the fourth episode of Supernatural‘s eighth season, entitled “Bitten.”

Showrunner Jeremy Carver teased this episode, which will feature mostly “found footage,” in a recent interview. Check out the official description:

A UNIQUE EPISODE OF SUPERNATURAL — Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) investigate a bizarre murder in a college town. Close on the tail of their suspect, they bust into an apartment to find two dead bodies and a laptop cued up to some disturbing video footage. The footage begins with Brian (guest star Leigh Parker), Mike (guest star Brandon W. Jones) and Kate (guest star Britni Sheridan) hearing about an unusual animal attack in their town and the rest of the story is revealed through their eyes. Sam and Dean become unknowing participants in a unique student film. Thomas J. Wright directed the episode written by Robbie Thompson (#804).

Concerning this episode, executive producer Bob Singer told Zap2It, “You’re living in this found footage. The boys bracketed on either side in the opening and at the very end.”

Carver added to the praise for Parker, Jones and Sheridan, saying, “They’re really carrying the episode.” He went on to warn that despite the surface similarities to the season 3 episode “Ghostfacers,” “Bitten” will come across “more like your Paranormal Activity or your Blair Witch, which you could say are close cousins to Ghostfacers.”

“Bitten” will air on Wednesday, October 24 at 9:00 p.m. ET.

What do you think of the description? Are you looking forward to this unique episode?
