With less than a week to go before the season premiere, the CW has released the official description of the third episode of Supernatural season 8, entitled “Heartache.”

The episode is directed by none other than Dean Winchester himself, Jensen Ackles, and was filmed first this season to give the actor-turned-director time to prepare. KSiteTV has the synopsis:

JENSEN ACKLES DIRECTS — Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) investigate a string of unusual murders where the victims were all recipients of organs from the same donor. The killer is captured, but things become even more complicated when the brothers find their killer in a trance mumbling an ancient prayer. Jensen Ackles directed the episode written by Brad Buckner & Eugenie Ross-Leming (#801).

This episode marks the third episode directed by Ackles, who helmed season 6’s “Weekend At Bobby’s” and season 7’s “The Girl Next Door.” This episode, like his previous two directorial efforts, sounds like a standalone piece, though no doubt promises plenty of blood and gore with a description discussing internal organs.

“Heartache” will air on Wednesday, October 17 at 9:00 p.m. ET.

What do you think about the description? Are you looking forward to Jensen’s directorial work?
