Superman and Lois is officially coming to The CW! The Supergirl offshoot has been given a series order, The CW announced earlier today.

The Arrow-verse crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths concludes tonight, promising changes across the entire DCCW Universe, but fans already know one major change to next year’s 2020-2021 Arrow-verse TV show lineup.

The CW announced earlier today that it has given a series pickup order for Superman and Lois, the upcoming live-action series starring Tyler Hoechlin and Bitsie Tulloch as the big blue boy scout and DC’s most celebrated journalist. So, although Arrow will be bowing out of the shared universe at the end of this season, the universe it birthed will still have six TV shows running within it.

Superman and Lois is set to film its very first episode later this spring, ahead of May Upfronts. According to The CW, the show will follow the world’s most famous superhero couple as they deal with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society.

The pilot episode of Superman and Lois will be written and executive-produced by Todd Helbing, best known for his work on The Flash with Grant Gustin and Candice Patton, with Arrow-verse mastermind Greg Berlanti, along with Sarah Schechter and DC Comics writer Geoff Johns, serving as executive producers.

Though we don’t know many details yet about the series, Superman and Lois star Bitsie Tulloch gave some hints in an interview earlier this year, saying, “When Todd Helbing, who’s our showrunner, was telling me about the story for the pilot script for Superman and Lois, I got chills. It’s so good, and it’s so something we haven’t seen before with them, so I think it’s going to be great.”
