Supergirl brought some exciting casting announcements to their panel at SDCC.
The most exciting of these casting announcements is probably that Jon Cryer will be reprising his role as Lex Luthor in Supergirl season 5, despite being killed at the end of season 4. He will appear in the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” Arrowverse crossover episode.
In more exciting news, Jesse Rath’s Brainiac 5 is getting a female counterpart, and she’s being played by Rath’s sister, Meaghan Rath! Apparently, Jesse Rath has been pitching the idea since he was cast on the show, he revealed.
Supergirl has also cast two new series regulars for season 5. Julie Gonzalo will be playing the role of Andrea Rojas/Acrata. Her character, who is a “polished businesswoman and heir to a tech empire making a hostile advance into the world of media,” will make her first appearance in the first episode of Supergirl season 5.
Staz Nair (Game of Thrones) has also joined the cast of Supergirl as William Dey. He is described as a “hardened reporter, a cynic and a sellout who looks down on Kara’s earnest idealism.” Dey will also make his first appearance in the first episode of season 5.
