Lynda Carter, best known for playing Wonder Woman in the 1970s series, will play the President of the United States in Supergirl season 2.

At the end of season 1, Supergirl executive producer Greg Berlanti revealed, “We had the perfect role for Lynda Carter, and we couldn’t work [it] out [because of] her schedule,” calling that his “biggest disappointment” from season 1.

EP Andrew Kreisberg claimed, “We’re going to do it. We’ll just do it next year.”

And Kreisberg is true to his word, as Carter has signed onto a multiple-episode arc as POTUS, Zap2It reports. She will make her debut in the third episode of season 2.

The addition of Carter continues Supergirl‘s pattern of honoring actors and actresses who have played iconic superhero roles in the past. In season 1, the series introduced Dean Cain (Superman in Lois and Clark) as Jeremiah Danvers, Helen Slater (Supergirl in the film Supergirl) as Eliza Danvers, and Laura Vandervoort (Supergirl in Smallville) as Indigo.

Recently, Supergirl also cast former Teen Wolf star Tyler Hoechlin as Superman. Hoechlin says he doesn’t plan to pull from any previous portrayals of Superman for his own role.

“For me it’s more about finding who he is in this story that we’re telling, and pulling that from the tradition of Superman as a whole, so I really want to be able to get through as many of the comics and things that I haven’t seen and really pull from things like that, and then within the story that we’re telling, find how that best serves that story.”

He adds, “I think the more interesting part will be finding who Clark Kent is, and especially with the tone of the show, and how Kara is, I’m really interested to see how they relate when they’re not saving someone or doing something incredible.”

Supergirl season 2 premieres Monday, October 10 at 8:00 p.m. ET on The CW.
