Chris Vance will play Non in Supergirl season 1.

Non’s presence was teased earlier this summer at the TCAs.

Non is described as “a former scientist in a league with the House of El. Non is a brutal Kryptonian military officer who is sinister, powerful and angry. He’s the antithesis of all things Supergirl stands for. Non will quickly become Supergirl’s greatest threat,” reports THR.

Non will first appear in Supergirl season 1, episode 8. The role will be recurring.

In the DC Comics, Non was a scientist on Krypton who, along with his student Jor-El, discovered Krypton’s sun was unstable and would cause the planet’s destruction. When they presented these findings to the Kryptonian Science Council, they were arrested for heresy. Though their punishments were light, they were warned against telling anyone what they had found.

While Jor-El kept silent, Non kept trying to share the news. Eventually he was arrested and lobotomized. He was eventually exiled to the Phantom Zone. After escaping many years later, he headed to Earth and fought against Jor-El’s son, Superman.
