This week’s Arrowverse episodes were Supergirl 2×21 “Resist,” The Flash 3×22 “Infantino Street,” and Arrow 5×22 “Missing.” We recap the week in CW superheroes!

‘Supergirl’ 2×21 ‘Resist’

The Daxamite invasion is in full effect, as Team Supergirl convenes in the alien dive bar. Lillian Luthor arrives to offer her assistance, but the team is having none of it. For the time being. They then intercept communication between Rhea and POTUS — oh, and Cat Grant.

The Queen of All Media has returned after far too long an absence. No peace is brokered, though, and Supergirl saves Cat when Air Force One is shot down. POTUS also survives because, well, she’s an alien. She explains that she herself is an alien refugee.

She orders Alex, as acting head of the DEO (J’onn is still out of commission), to activate a cannon that will shoot down Rhea’s ship.

Meanwhile, Rhea blackmails Lena and Mon-El into getting married. Neither is particularly thrilled about it, but they go through with it to prevent Rhea from blowing up a hospital. However, the ceremony is interrupted by Supergirl, Lillian Luthor and Hank Henshaw.

That’s right, Kara teams up with Cadmus to save Lena and Mon-El. Lillian wants to save her daughter, but of course she backstabs Supergirl once Lena is safe. The team planned for this, however, and Mon-El returns to Earth safely while Kara stays behind to get Rhea to surrender. Things don’t go as planned, however, because Rhea has an ace up her sleeve: Superman.

And finally, Cat Grant broadcasts a message of support to the people of National City. When Rhea’s soldiers attack, though, Guardian comes to the rescue. Naturally, Cat recognizes him immediately as James.

‘The Flash’ 3×22 ‘Infantino Street’

The countdown to Iris’s death is on. The first half of the episode serves as a heist episode, as Lyla refuses to turn over the Dominator tech that could power the Speed Bazooka. Barry creating Flashpoint has caused Lyla not to trust Barry’s judgment. In response, Barry travels back in time to recruit Leonard Snart — the version who was working with the Legends — to help him steal the tech from A.R.G.U.S.

They run into obstacles like King Shark serving as a guard for the tech, but they succeed in getting the tech out — only to come face-to-face with Lyla. However, she watched Barry rescue Leonard when he was locked in the room with King Shark rather than leave him to his fate and changed her mind about him having the tech. Barry returns Leonard to his correct time, and Leonard tells Barry to rely on his goodness when he fights Savitar.

Meanwhile, Iris, Wally and Joe travel to Earth-2 to hide Iris. They don’t tell Barry this since Savitar knows what Barry knows. But when Savitar pretends to be their Barry, H.R. spills the beans. Savitar travels to Earth-2; he breaks Wally’s leg and takes Iris.

The team takes their places at Infantino Street, Barry with the Speed Bazooka in hand. But Savitar reveals that he has the Philosopher’s Stone and thus the Speed Bazooka won’t work on him. Everything (or almost everything) comes to pass as it did when Barry first saw Iris’s death, as Savitar stabs Iris. Barry catches her lifeless body while Joe collapses.

Meanwhile, Cisco and Killer Frost begin their fated fight in the forest.

‘Arrow’ 5×22 ‘Missing’

The penultimate episode of Arrow‘s fifth season sets the stage for an all-out brawl between Team Arrow Team Prometheus. Oliver’s birthday is ruined when Chase proves that he is exactly where he wants to be in A.R.G.U.S. captivity.

His allies — Evelyn Sharp, Black Siren and Talia al Ghul — pick off Team Arrow one at a time before bringing them to Lian Yu. Rene was the first casualty, as he missed his custody hearing because he’d been taken.

Quentin Lance also comes face-to-face with Black Siren, who does her best Earth-1 Laurel impression. It’s painful for him to learn that she is from another Earth, but it looks like Black Siren isn’t thrilled with putting Quentin in harm’s way either. Perhaps there’s more humanity to her than she initially let on.

Meanwhile, Oliver was left to join forces with Malcolm Merlyn, who wanted to rescue Thea. This team-up proves to be insufficient, however, as Chase plays his trump card: he has Oliver’s son, William.

Forced to call in reinforcements to get his team and his son back, Oliver recruits Nyssa al Ghul and Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke. The final battle will take place on the island where it all started.

And in the flashbacks, Kovar injects Oliver with a drug that forces him to confront his guilt, pain and failures. Kovar believes this will cause Oliver to kill himself out of despair. But after being visited by hallucinations of Yao Fei and Laurel, Oliver frees himself and heads out to take on Kovar once and for all.
