Supergirl premieres on Monday, October 26. Ahead of that, we have some spoiler-free teases to tide you over.

Yes, the Supergirl pilot leaked online earlier this summer, and many have already watched it. If you’ve already seen the pilot, then this post is not for you. But for those of you who have managed to hold off until the series premiere, you’re in luck: We have five spoiler-free teases of what you can look forward to on Monday night.

Melissa Benoist is adorkable

The Glee alum is just as, if not more, charming as fellow Glee alum Grant Gustin in The Flash. She’s charismatic, quirky, and darn likable. She also brings a lightness to the show that sets it apart from its darker brothers on The CW. That’s not to say that Supergirl (or Supergirl) can’t be serious, but Benoist’s energy keeps things from becoming grim.

Ladies to the front

There are ladies everywhere in this pilot. If you’ve been frustrated with the male-dominated comic book shows and movies prevalent in pop culture today, Supergirl is right up your alley.

The relationship between Kara and her adoptive sister is at the forefront of the episode despite the presence of two quite handsome men in Kara’s hemisphere. Kara’s boss, Cat Grant, is as fierce and driven as you’d expect a man in her situation to be, and she’s unapologetic about it. And Kara’s mother is surprisingly present in the conflict between Kara and some alien convicts.

The special effects are good

For those wondering how a television series would handle the special effects required for a superhero with Kyrptonian powers, there’s no need to fear. The sequence from the promos of Kara saving an airplane looks fantastic. And while that is perhaps the biggest display of the episode, it’s not the only impressive one.

Superman is… and is not present

Don’t expect a Supergirl/Superman team-up, as Superman is more of a specter than an actual presence in the pilot. He is name dropped repeatedly — but never directly. He’s called just about everything but Superman or Clark. His hopes for Kara are made clear by the end of the episode, but he’s not the one to share them with Kara. There’s no mistake that Superman is being kept aside so he doesn’t overshadow the true star of the series: Kara.

A twist ending

If you’ve watched Arrow and The Flash, you’ll know the team behind those shows — and Supergirl — is fond of shocking teases at the very end of episodes. Supergirl follows the same pattern; the final moments of the pilot reveal the identity of the season’s Big Bad, and you’ll never guess who it is.

Supergirl premieres Monday, October 26 at 8:30 p.m. ET on The CW.
