Let’s be honest, when summer time rolls around it’s slim pickings on TV. Here’s our favorite guilty pleasure summer TV shows to watch.

‘The Challenge’:

The Challenge is about to enter season 30! MTV is celebrating the occasion by upping the winnings to a whopping $1 Million. With such a large prize it’s safe to assume that the competition is about to get even crazier. For me, the best part about the series is seeing the crazy challenges that they have to go through in order to stay in the game.

The cast is just an added bonus to the game. The seasoned veterans from when the The Real World and Road Rules were just starting out are always like a little nostalgia. But there’s plenty of new faces too as MTV is always finding new and interesting characters for their reality TV.

This season some of my favorites are back including: Johnny Bananas, CT, Darrell, Derrick K, Devin, Aneesa, Camila, Cara Maria, Jenna, Nicole, and Tori.

The Challenge season 30 premieres July 18 on MTV.

‘Big Brother’:

There’s something a little bit creepy about being able to watch the cast of Big Brother whenever you want, but it’s also wildly entertaining. Season 19 is about to start and this time it’s with an all new cast. Big Brother is another reality competition show that pits the contestants against one another for a winnings of $500,000.

There’s a few different ways people can make it to the end of this show. They can rely on a great social game, their ability to win competitions, or a mixture of both. But in the end the only way that they can truly win is by convincing a group of judges, who they played against, that they deserve to win the money. Because the competitions will only get them to the final two.

Big Brother season 19 premieres June 28 on CBS.

‘Married at First Sight’:

This is a bit of a lesser known reality TV show, but it’s amazing. The show is based on an extreme concept with the cast agreeing to get legally married to a stranger whom they don’t meet until the altar! The pairs are matched by a team of experts including a sociologist, a communication and relationship expert, and a marriage counselor. Together they create three compatible couples based on “scientific matchmaking” (whatever that means).

The show then follows the couples as they celebrate their wedding, go on a honeymoon, move in together, and then deal with the realities of joining their lives with someone they barely know. Along the way the team of experts helps them to hopefully grow together as couple and deal with any challenges that come their way. At the end of the experiment the couples decide whether to stay married, or get a divorce.

Married at First Sight is already in season 5 and airs on FYI and Lifetime.

‘Teen Mom’:

When it comes to drama, the girls of Teen Mom never disappoint. Whether it’s the Teen Mom OG cast, or the Teen Mom 2 cast they always seem to have something going on in their lives. With their adorable children also a part of the show it’s easy to become hooked on watching them grow up.

When Teen Mom 2 returns they’re actually getting a new cast member. Briana DeJesus was originally a part of Teen Mom 3 which was cancelled, and now they’re bringing her over to join the Teen Mom 2 girls. It’s been a while since she was on air so there should be lots to catch up on.

Teen Mom OG is currently airing on MTV and Teen Mom 2 will begin a new season July 17.

‘Life of Kylie’:

Life of Kylie is the latest Keeping up with the Kardashians spinoff series. This family is mildly ridiculous but always entertaining, and I’m expecting no different from Kylie’s series. Although the famous Kardashian sisters didn’t grow up as celebrities, Kylie has been under the spotlight since she was pretty young and her family signed up for their reality show.

The synopsis for the series spouts that viewers will “Get to know the real Kylie Jenner.” The youngest sister of the family is known for having a bit of a more reserved personality than her sisters, so it should be interesting to see how she handles all the spotlight on her. I’m also hoping to see how involved she is with her successful business.

Life of Kylie premiers on E! August 6.
