Spring and summer TV season is a relatively chill time of year after a packed TV schedule during the colder months.

That means it is prime season for bingeing shows you have been wanting to check out (or catch up on) for a while. These recommended shows cover everything from superheroes to hackers to harlots and all the goodness in between with lots of episodes for an “extended binge” to keep you busy all summer long. Plus, some of these series are returning later this year, which makes now the perfect time to get all caught up so you can add them to your TV spreadsheet.

Wait…I’m not the only one with a spreadsheet, right? Please say you have one too so I don’t feel like a weirdo.

These are seven shows you really need to check out during late spring and throughout the summer:

‘Mr. Robot’

This USA Network show has all three seasons available on Prime Video. It follows the journey of Elliot, a cyber-security whiz who suffers from depression, and his journey toward banding together with a group of hacktivists to take down debt on a large scale.

Mr. Robot has a loyal fan following, but its season 3 finale aired way back in December 2017, so that means dedicated viewers are in for a refresher. Season 4 is expected to drop sometime in summer 2019 for its final season, so devour those episodes and join in on the fun during the last round.

‘Grace & Frankie’

This feel-good Netflix show explores the unlikely friendship between two women whose business partner husbands leave them to be with each other. It’s funny, it’s heartwarming, and it gets better and better each season.

Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin are a complete match made in heaven and there are already five seasons of their adventures available. And, don’t worry, season 6 isn’t coming until sometime in 2020 so you have ALLLLL summer to come up to speed.

‘Black Lightning’

Black Lightning is seriously one of the best shows on TV right now. It tells the superhero experience through a Black family and combines action, drama, social commentary, humor, and all the feels you wanna feel.

This CW show just wrapped up season 2 but it’s already on Netflix for your viewing pleasure. Season 3 will drop this fall, so the summer months are the perfect time to get into the action so you will be ready to watch it go down in Freeland.

The Good Place

Holy forking shirtballs! The Good Place has been around since 2016 and hopefully it won’t go anywhere anytime soon. The show has garnered ample critical and commercial praise for a good reason — it is truly unique and made to be binged with most of its episodes running around 22-minutes each.

The Good Place will change the way you think about the afterlife and give you loads of entertainment in the process.

‘Marvel’s Runaways’

This Marvel TV show may have fallen under the radar for some fans with most of the focus going toward the now-cancelled Netflix gang of shows and Cloak & Dagger, but it’s still worth a watch. The Hulu series definitely ties into the MCU and has its own place in the universe by following the story of six teens who come together for an ongoing epic adventure.

The show’s second season really takes off and leave you wanting more, which is great because Runaways is coming back for a third season at some point. So, binge away my friends and enjoy!

‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’

The critical acclaim, awards, and chatter about this Prime Video series is not just hype. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is a period drama, comedy, and underdog story all in one when a housewife discovers her own destiny after her husband takes off with another woman.

You will fall deep for the titular heroine and get a bundle of good belly laughs in along the way. Seasons 1 and 2 are already completed with a third season dropping at some point in 2019.

‘Harlots’

Hulu’s original programming (outside of The Handmaid’s Tale) is pretty underrated overall. Harlots is another period drama set in late 1700s London that sheds light on the sex worker industry during a time of religious crusades.

The show goes so much deeper than the surface level to give stories and heart to its ensemble cast of women characters. I jumped on the Harlots train late and now I am telling everyone to get into it before the third season drops on July 10.

Of course, there are so many other shows that could be added to this list, but even the long summer days are not infinite in number. So, relax and start devouring great TV!
