No longer illegally practicing law, Mike Ross embarks on a new adventure tonight on the Suits season 4 premiere, “One- Two- Three- Go…”

Just because Mike isn’t with the firm anymore doesn’t mean we are leaving Pearson Specter behind. The universe of Suits has merely expanded, opening all kinds of doors for cases and issues to deal with. This is evidenced by the three guest stars set to appear in this upcoming season – even if, disappointingly, none of them are women.

Over the seasons, the show has grown. Rachel has her own storyline, Harvey’s character growth was through his attempt at a relationship with Scottie, and the trials and tribulations of Louis Litt are always entertaining. At this point in the show, it is a matter of what the writing team decides to do with these characters and how they develop them further. Will Rachel thrive at Columbia Law School? How will Mike leaving and losing Scottie affect Harvey’s already hard exterior?

As seen in the preview below, it’s going to be an intense season premiere. If Harvey is Michael Jordan (as he oft believes himself to be), then it’s Mike’s (Lebron James) time to shine. Is Mike’s hubris going to be the best of him? Maybe. Also seen in the promo stills below, it looks like Rachel will be making a visit to Mike’s new job in the fancy new office.

Once they take this plunge – Mike working for a different industry where he’s like to exceed as much as he did at Pearson Specter – it will be interest to see if he can ever return to his roots at the law firm. From a purely reality-driven standpoint, we can understand the suspense of having your two leads ‘split up’ but with a show like Suits, the question is, how do they get back together? That being said, we could see Harvey willing to leave Jessica and start his own firm, and bring Mike with him, but let’s hope that doesn’t happen for a long time.
