Unsurprisingly, Suits has been renewed for a fifth season by the USA Network. Season 5 will consist of 16 episodes and is slated to begin airing during summer 2015.

This is all in keeping with the show’s annual schedule, airing ten episodes during the summer months and five in the late winter.

Suits season 4 is currently in the midst of airing its first part of the season, with episode 9 airing this Wednesday night and the season 4, part 1 finale airing next Wednesday.

While this renewal was expected – Suits is a strongly rated drama on USA Network – we are excited to see it confirmed. Hopefully this will allow show creator, Aaron Korsh, time to evaluate and/or adjust character story lines for the rest of season 4.

This season has been a bumpy ride thus far with Mike being hired at Sidwell Investment Group in the first episode, only to be fired and rehired at Pearson Specter by last week’s “Exposure.” In addition to the professional struggles of our characters, there’s also a concern for their personal lives. Mike and Rachel hit one major bump with Logan Sanders, but will their relationship be strong enough to forget about it, moving forward?

USA Network has not announced when the second part of season 4 will air, but we expect it to be sometime in early 2015.

In the announcement about the renewal, Chris McCumber, USA Network president sounds excited about the future of Suits season 5. Per the press release:

With some of the best writing on television, and a brilliant ensemble cast, we anticipate a spectacular fifth season for a series that has become a marquee property for USA.

‘Suits’ airs at 9 p.m. Wednesday nights on USA Network.

With the announcement of this renewal, what do you think will happen the rest of season 4 and beyond to Mike, Harvey, Rachel, Donna and everyone else at Pearson Specter?
