American actress Meghan Markle of Suits fame is engaged to Prince Harry, younger brother of Prince William.

Clarence House announced Monday morning that American actress, model and humanitarian Meghan Markle will marry Prince Harry. The pair have been dating since June 2016, and became engaged earlier this month.

Markle is best known for her role as Rachel Zane on Suits — which, ironically, recently filmed a wedding for her character, which will air in 2018.

Although nothing is confirmed, it has previously been speculated that she will leave the series ahead of season 8. Now that she is to be royalty, she will certainly have a lot of obligations in the U.K., but we’ll have to wait for an official announcement before we know for sure.

Meghan Markle, who was previously married to producer Trevor Engelson, will marry Prince Harry in spring 2018.

Markle is of mixed race heritage, and has some interesting ties to the British royal family: her ancestor Lord Hussey, 1st Baron Hussey of Sleaford, was beheaded on King Henry VIII’s orders, and she is herself a descendant of King John (1199-1216). Markle is a (very) distant relative of Harry, through their shared ancestors Elizabeth Bowes (1505–1572) and husband Richard.

Prince Harry is the second and youngest son of Princess Diana and Prince Charles, and the grandson of Queen Elizabeth II. He is currently fifth in line to the throne after his father, brother William, and William’s son George and daughter Charlotte.

Here is the official announcement of their engagement:

A statement by Prince William and wife Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, reads:

“We are very excited for Harry and Meghan. It has been wonderful getting to know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are together.”

Congratulations to the happy couple!
