Stranger Things has been renewed for a fourth season at Netflix, with a new teaser that promises to move things out of (or beyond) Hawkins, Indiana.

Looks like we’ll be visiting the upside down at least one more time.

In the least surprising news ever, Netflix has renewed fan favorite (and reportedly most watched Netflix original series ever) Stranger Things for a fourth season — though we still don’t know when it will be released.

The official Stranger Things Twitter account dropped a short teaser confirming the news, and though it doesn’t feature any of our favorite characters or give any hints as to Hopper’s true fate (because we refuse believe he’s dead!), it does end with the tagline “We’re not in Hawkins anymore.”

Check out the teaser below!

After three seasons of being set in the small town of Hawkins, Indiana, it looks like Stranger Things will opt for a much needed expansion of its borders. There are only so many times you can wreak havoc and destroy sections of one small town before the suspension of belief becomes too much even for the most dedicated of fans.

It also makes sense to move the narrative beyond the borders of Hawkins just in terms of the story and the characters ended last seasons. The Byers family — which now includes Eleven — were last seen moving away from Hawkins, which means that going outside of the small town is a story necessity.

However, we still don’t know if the tagline means that that means we’ll be going back and forth between different Indiana towns, heading over to the Soviet Union (where a favorite fan theory puts Hopper) or spending most of our time in the upside down. Hopefully we get more footage soon so we can start theorizing!

On the heels of the season 4 renewal, Netflix also released the news that they’ve signed Stranger Things creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, to a multiple-year film and TV overall deal that is reportedly worth nine figures. So even when Stranger Things meets its strange end, we’ll be sure to see much more from the minds of the Duffer brothers over the years.
