David Harbour, known from Stranger Things and the Winona Ryder gif from the SAG Awards, is testing for Deadpool‘s iconic character Cable.

Deadpool fans flipped when the end-credits scene revealed that none other than fan favorite Marvel comics character Cable would appear in the sequel.

The Wrap has learned that none other than Chief Jim Hopper in Netflix’s Stranger Things — aka David Harbour in the real world — is one of the actors currently testing for the part.

The actor does an amazing job in Stranger Things, which returns for its second season on Halloween 2017, and would kind of be a perfect fit for the role of Deadpool’s arch-frenemy.

Starring Ryan Reynolds, Deadpool 2 premieres March 2, 2018. It recently had a director shake-up when the first movie’s director Tim Miller and Ryan Reynolds couldn’t unify around the sequel’s vision, and Miller left the project, to be replaced by David Leitch.

Before Stranger Things, David Harbour was most famous for his roles in The Newsroom, Pan Am, and State of Affairs. He is no stranger to superhero movies, having appeared in both Suicide Squad and The Green Hornet.
