After directing him to his third best actor Academy Award in Lincoln, it looks like Steven Spielberg may team up with Daniel Day-Lewis again.

Steven Spielberg’s next movie, American Sniper, will be written by suddenly hot screenwriter Jason Hall. After Spielberg decided that he would direct the project that stars Bradley Cooper, studios are battling to get their hands on other scripts penned by Hall. One of these scripts has the potential to reconnect the screenwriter with Spielberg. Spielberg may want to bring Daniel Day-Lewis in on this movie.

According to Deadline, DreamWorks is in the early stages of having Hall adapt Thank You For Your Service, a book by David Finkel that is not yet published. Thank You For Your Service will tackle the issues of veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder syndrome.

Spielberg is thinking about directing the project, and being the legendary director that he is, he obviously gets to direct anything he wants. He’s reportedly thinking about the project as something on which he can re-team with Lincoln star Daniel Day-Lewis. Spielberg is one of the greatest directors of all-time, Day-Lewis has more Academy Awards for best actor than anyone, and Hall is quickly making a name for himself as a screenwriter. Needless to say, if they all end up working together on this film, it’ll be one to look forward to for sure.

It should come as no surprise that Spielberg would want to work with Hall again. After reading the script for American Sniper, he immediately decided he would direct it. American Sniper will be co-produced by Warner Bros. and DreamWorks. Both of those studios will be working with him again. Dreamworks will be producing the Thank You For Your Service, and Warner Bros. also has signed him to work with them. Warner Bros. has signed Hall on a blind script deal. This means that they’ve signed him to write a movie for them, but it has yet to be decided what movie that will be.
