After his well-deserved BAFTA win on Sunday, Steven Moffat spoke about the introduction of the new Doctor Who companion and why Sherlock series 3 will be just as frustrating for viewers as ever.

Speaking to Red Carpet News TV after the BAFTA Television Craft Awards, the Doctor Who and Sherlock showrunner was up to his old tricks. He has a reputation amongst fans for “trolling” viewers of both of his shows, giving elusive and tantalising hints at plot points months before they are revealed and refusing to comment any further. Well, no change here. The Moff has once again dropped some excruciating teases for fans of The Doctor and the super sleuth.

His talks of a frustrating finale for Sherlock series 3 suggests that he is very confident for the the show’s renewal, given that past series have ended in high-stakes cliffhangers. For Doctor Who meanwhile, the promise of “the most unusual introduction to a companion we’ve ever had” is particularly interesting – especially since the latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine alludes to her freshman episode being a ghost story.
