Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat has teased fans with information about a new monster for the upcoming series 7, warning that it will terrify viewers.
The head writer made the remarks on Twitter, saying the following:
See this new monster I’ve invented? This is a GOOD one. This will SCARE you. Oh yes.

Frankly, we‘d expect nothing less from the man who created gas-mask-wearing child zombies, terrifying stone angels, sinister shadow monsters and the foreboding Silence. However, it’s always exciting to hear that the Moff is planning a good scare. We expect the new monster to have some kind of similar psychological gimmick similar to that of the Weeping Angels and The Silence. Whatever it turns out to be, we’re sure it will have us cowering behind our sofas just like the great big pepper pot Dalek’s did to audiences in the sixties.
