The man who penned the scripts for seven out of eight Harry Potter movies is helping out with the script for Fantastic Beasts.

As we’ve been speculating on MuggleCast over several recent episodes, Steve Kloves — who wrote the scripts for all but the fifth Potter film Order of the Phoenix — is helping J.K. Rowling write the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them screenplay whenever she asks for assistance. As we learned previously, he’s officially credited as a producer.

The tidbit came out during a chat between The Hollywood Reporter and WB head Greg Silverman, who was asked about Rowling’s work on Beasts.

“There’s a great industry history of authors being great screenwriters,” said Silverman. “She’s so talented, and no surprise, she wrote a brilliant screenplay. Also, she had an amazing collaborator in Steve Kloves, who worked on many of the Harry Potter scripts. He’s not writing, but he’s around to help her if she ever needs anything.”

Writing a screenplay is a very different experience from writing a book, so many fans have wondered how Rowling would be able to pull it off since it’s something she hasn’t done before.

The two writers have a great friendship. Check out this great clip from a one-on-one interview between Rowling and Kloves in which they discuss how badly they miss writing Harry, Ron, and Hermione:

With this clip in mind, it must’ve felt great to start working together again!

Rowling submitted her screenplay — which she reportedly has complete control over — to Warner Bros. earlier this year. On Monday the studio announced that Eddie Redmayne will play the role of Newt Scamander in the film.

The Harry Potter author took to Twitter this morning to share her excitement about Eddie’s casting:

The first film in the Fantastic Beasts series opens in theaters November 2016. WB is planning to release a sequel and a threequel in November 2018 and November 2020.
