Steve Carell is heading to Apple for his next television role.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, actor Steve Carell has joined the cast of an untitled drama for Apple which will focus on giving viewers an inside look at the lives of the people who run morning television.

Carell will be in good company on the new drama. He joins previously announced stars Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston, both of whom boarded the project last year.

The star of The Office will pay a morning show anchor named Mitch Kessler on the new series — a man struggling with trying to stay relevant amidst the changing media landscape.

As for Apple, they seem to be putting a lot of stock in the series, which currently has no title.

The show was given a straight to series order. Apple has ordered 20 episodes to start, which will span over the course of two seasons.

Though the series is based off of an original concept by executive producer Michael Ellenberg, the series will be taking cues from Brian Stelter’s book, Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV to round out the story.

There’s currently no word on when Apple plans to premiere this, or any of their other recently announced series.

Coming up next, fans of Steve Carell can catch the actor starring opposite Diane Kruger, Leslie Mann, Gwendoline Christie, and Janelle Monae in the upcoming dramedy, Welcome to Marwen. Directed by Forrest Gump helmer Robert Zemeckis, the film hits theaters on December 21.
