Deadline has learned that the film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s The Host now has a distributor in the United States.

They write:

Tom Ortenberg’s company [Open Road] is acquiring domestic distribution rights to The Host, the Andrew Niccol-directed adaptation of Twilight Saga author Stephenie Meyer’s novel. I’m told that the there were at least three other distributors trying to get this and that the deal will be a seven-figure minimum guarantee, a healthy P&A commitment, and gross for participants that include the author.

While Open Road is a relatively unknown distributor here in the United States, we’re sure this film will screen in lots of theaters given Meyer’s success with Twilight.

Last month the actress who will take the lead role was revealed. See her at this link!
