Heads up, Stephen King fans — another one of the famed author’s books is about to get the adaptation treatment.

Variety reports that Stephen King’s novel The Tommyknockers is being made into a movie.

The upcoming adaptation is set to be spearheaded by James Wan and Roy Lee.

Wan, who’s currently working on helming Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment’s Aquaman, is no stranger to the thriller genre. He’s well known for The Conjuring franchise, so he’s a great choice to be taking on directing duties for The Tommyknockers.

Wan will also be producing the upcoming film alongside Lee, whose previous film credits include the Lego movies, The Departed and last year’s blockbuster adaptation of King’s It.

This isn’t the first time King’s The Tommyknockers has been given the adaptation treatment. Fans of the author’s stories might recall that in 1993 ABC tackled the novel in the form of a mini series.

The television adaptation was produced by Larry Sanitsky, who is also coming back to work on the big screen adaptation alongside Wan and Lee.

Published in 1987, The Tommyknockers tells the story of a town in Maine that finds itself engulfed by a dangerous gas unearthed from a fallen spacecraft.

The townsfolk soon realize that the gas transforms them, giving them enhanced abilities. But there’s a price to pay for their newfound skills: the gas also slowly starts turning the residents violent as well.

Currently, there’s no set release date for the big screen adaptation of The Tommyknockers.

That being said, Stephen King fans won’t have to wait long before another adaptation of his novels hits the big screen.

The highly anticipated sequel to New Line’s It is slated to hit theaters next year on September 6, 2019.
