Stephen Fry has been named as the host of the 2015 BAFTAs (British Academy Film and Television Awards). This is the tenth time the seasoned actor will be hosting the event.

Deadline announced today that the 57-year-old British actor Stephen Fry (who is currently starring in The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies) will once again play host at the BAFTA ceremony.

This might come as a surprise, considering his performance last year was widely criticised for being tired and bland. Fry first hosted the awards show in 2001, and audiences were hoping for a fresh face this year.

Commenting on his performance, British presenter Terry Wogan deemed it, “just not world-worthy.”

However, who could replace him? An article on The Independent suggested Russell Brand, or perhaps the Sherlock stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman.

But despite the criticism, Fry is back in the game, tasked with proving the critics wrong.

“The opportunity to help the Academy promote filmmaking and encourage cinema-going means a lot to me,” Fry has previously stated. “I’ve met many heroes and had the honour of introducing many young talents that are now busy forging remarkable careers for themselves.”

He adds a flair of his trademark humour as well: “Seeing the photos from each year back I can chart my bewildering changes in weight too.”

The BAFTAs will take place on Feb. 8, in the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, London. Nominations will be announced on Jan. 9, 2015.
