Jon Stewart and the “old” Stephen Colbert returned to late night television just in time to take on the Republican National Convention.

The beloved former Daily Show host teamed up with his former Comedy Central cohort Stephen Colbert on The Late Show Monday night, which is broadcasting live this week in honor of the big RNC event.

And boy did they come up with a great skit.

After Stephen teases that an “old friend” from “basic cable” will be returning to the airwaves, The Late Show host runs out to a cabin where he finds a bearded Jon Stewart in pajamas… and his old Colbert Report character, which made Stephen a Comedy Central darling.

“This isn’t a Pokemon gymnasium anymore!” Jon says to present day Stephen when he first arrives at the cabin. When he breaks the news to Jon Stewart and “old” Stephen that Trump is the presumptive Republican nominee, “old Stephen” leaves the cabin — with his Captain America shield in tow — and goes to The Late Show, where he presents a segment of The Word.

Watch the hilarious reunion below:

It’ll be interesting to see how often Jon and Stephen bring back their classic Comedy Central personas over the next couple weeks and months as we approach the Presidential election. We know Jon will be back at least once more, because Stephen teased after his Word segment that Stewart would indeed be returning later this week.

We’ll be sure to share Jon’s next appearance after it airs.
