Klaus and Stefan aren’t the only reunion we’d like to see during the Originals and Vampire Diaries crossover event, but it has made us nostalgic for the old days.
Stefan and Klaus have gone from arch enemies to friends and back again more times than we can count. If there’s anything that The Originals has made clear, it’s that Klaus is not an easy person to stay friends with. He has a tendency to burn bridges first and then try to rebuild them later. Heck, he’s burnt bridges with Elijah and Rebekah that seemed way beyond repair.
Now that Stefan needs to flee the Mystic Falls area to keep out of reach of Reyna, he’s headed to visit an old friend that may be able to give him sanctuary. Hopefully this doesn’t draw Reyna to New Orleans (because that’s one headache The Originals could do without right now), but we’re also glad to see that Stefan knows that the Mikaelsons are not adversaries anymore.
In honor of their reunion this week, we’re looking back on all the fun, sad, and complex Klaus and Stefan interactions that we’ve had before. Their relationship has been one hell of a roller coaster ride.

They reminded each other that there’s more to them than disagreements… even when they’re disagreeing
It’s been a long road from The Vampire Diaries season 2, episode 19, “Klaus,” where Klaus changed the Mystic Falls gang’s lives forever, to the present, where Stefan can go to the Original vampire’s home for respite. We are excited to see what happens between them during the two hour crossover event this Friday on the CW.
