Everything Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy write is gold, and Stay is no exception. Please excuse me while I read this one all summer long.

About ‘Stay’ by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy:

Can you fall in love with someone you’ve never even met?

Hailey Taylor Emery has a hunch that her favorite client at Fetch—an anonymous virtual assistant service—is actually hockey star Matt Eriksson.

Although it’s against the rules for her to check his file, she’s 95% sure she spends at least part of each day texting with her lifelong crush and catering to his every need. Still nursing a wounded heart thanks to her recent breakup, Hailey is perfectly content with some harmless online flirting… until she has to meet her client. Face to face. Cue: utter panic.

Matt Eriksson is no stranger to heartbreak. He’s still not over the destruction of his marriage, and it sucks to be the only guy on the team who knows the truth—that hockey and long-term relationships are a toxic mix. He barely sees his kids, and dealing with his ex makes him feel insane. The only person in his life who seems to understand is someone who won’t show her pretty face.

But it’s nothing that a pair of fourth row hockey seats can’t fix. Hailey can’t resist the offer. Matt can’t resist Hailey. Good thing he doesn’t have to. Fire up the kiss cam!

Warning: Contains rabid hockey fans, misunderstood dick pics, hockey players at the opera and exploding ovaries.

‘Stay’ by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy review:

Wow! Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy just keep getting better and better as an author team. Every time they come out with a new book, I swear it’s my favorite by them until they write another one together. I love both of them separately, but when they come together it’s like perfection on top of perfection.

They make me swoon, laugh, and get emotional all in a neat little bundle of a story. And if you follow me on Twitter, you’ll now that I stayed up until 1 a.m. reading my ARC because it hit my kindle just before my usual bedtime. And then the next day I read the story again because it’s just that good.

One of my favorite things about these two is just how relatable their characters are. They don’t have it all figured out, they definitely need help from those around them, and you fall in love with the characters despite their flaws because everyone has them in the real world. Hailey and Matt are no different; they have plenty to learn about themselves and are happy to do it together along the way.

I’m pretty used to reading hockey romance where the heroine has no interest in sports, or hockey specifically, and that’s the reason that the hero chooses them. What makes Stay so much fun is that Hailey is a hockey fanatic. She’s just as crazy about the sport, if not crazier than Matt — but don’t get it twisted. She’s no puck bunny. In fact, she has a hard time even being around him at first because he’s a legend in Hailey’s eyes. I loved reading their interactions and it always put a silly smile on my face.

Matt is my favorite type of hero: he’s not the player type at all but still knows how to have fun, he’s a family guy, and yeah he has issues but he still tries his best. And wowza, the way he helps Hailey past her insecurities in the bedroom will have you wondering if the room your reading in suddenly got hotter.

Plus, there’s plenty of appearances from other favorites characters in the WAGs series. Reading about Wesmie, Riley, and Jess made me want to go back and read their novels all over again. It felt like being reunited with some of your favorite people again. I fully expect to be reading Stay many times over!
