The Team StarKid camp has been pretty quiet so far in 2014, but that’s about to change due to the announcement of “StarKid Takes Manhattan,” two one-day-only variety concerts taking place on April 12, as well as a Twisted cabaret concert in March.

After a few days of hinting on Twitter, the folks over at Team StarKid have released an announcement video for their next event, “StarKid Takes Manhattan.” The group will perform two concerts – a matinee and an evening show – at New York City’s Irving Plaza on Saturday, April 12. Watch the “StarKid Takes Manhattan” announcement video, voiced by Brian Holden, below:

The Manhattan shows promise to feature material from all seven of StarKid’s YouTube musicals – the Very Potter trilogy, Me and My Dick, Starship, Holy Musical B@man, and 2013’s Twisted. The cast for these concerts will include most of Joey Richter, Dylan Saunders, Joe Walker, Brian Holden, Jeff Blim, Jaime Lyn Beatty, Lauren Lopez, Meredith Stepien and Twisted newcomer Rachael Soglin. Clark Baxtresser, StarKid’s sometimes music director, bandleader and composer, has also confirmed his involvement.

Tickets for both “StarKid Takes Manhattan” concerts will be available via Live Nation and go on sale tomorrow, February 21, at 5 p.m. ET.

In addition to “StarKid Takes Manhattan,” the video also announces another special New York performance – the music of Twisted in concert at 54 Below, the legendary Broadway cabaret restaurant. This event, helmed by StarKid veteran and Twisted composer A.J. Holmes, will take place on March 17 and will feature Holmes himself along with Andrea Ross – featured on the Twisted: Twisted album – and Holly Grossman, with more performers to be announced. Tickets for this event are on sale now.

Finally, for those wondering if these ventures indicate that Team StarKid is moving their base of operations to New York, it’s not so. The video also announces StarKid’s “summer season,” running from July 3 – August 10 in Chicago. No word yet on what this new show or project might be, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated.
