Last night the Judas Redux production made their first big casting announcement. Team StarKid fan favorite is now attached to the project, furthering excitement and anticipation for the play.

Casting announcements for Judas have started to unfold, and on the productions official YouTube channel part one of the reveal has been posted. In the video below, Reed Campbell, Jessica Maynard, and Dylan Saunders are introduced as cast members of the show, and they take a few moments to share their excitement and anticipation with the viewers.

JUDAS REDUX: Introducing the Cast–Part 1

The group originally performed this piece five years ago at their alma mater University of Michigan. For everyone involved, the experience left quite an impression, and the desire to recreate the play has been strong. Although many heavyweight StarKids were a part of the original production of the play, this will be Dylan’s first time performing in the show. Fans of the theater group are sure to understand how much talent and skill he’ll bring to the piece.

However, if you’re curious to know more about the two newer additions, the Judas Redux tumblr page has provided their credentials.

Reed Campbell is originally and proudly from San Francisco, California. He is a recent graduate of the University Of Michigan where he earned his BFA Degree in Acting. The Actor/Singer is now based in New York City and can be seen next this May and June in Shakespeare In The Park’s production of The Comedy Of Errors directed by Daniel Sullivan. JUDASSS! Go Blue.

Jessica Maynard couldn’t be more excited to join the cast of Judas. She has worked recently with Remy Bumppo Theatre, Hubris Productions, Modofac Productions, and The State Theatre of Chicago. Regionally, she has worked with The Southern California Lyric Theatre, and The Michigan Shakespeare Festival. She is also currently involved in Pursuit Production’s Blood Wedding. She graduated with a BFA from the University of Michigan, and will be attending DePaul University in the Fall to pursue her MFA. Thank you to Julia and Corey for keeping the dream of this remount alive! She would also like to thank her family and Josh for…well…you know…being there…and all.

Dylan Saunders is, to quote President Barack Obama, “fired up and ready to go” to work with his friends on Judas. A San Francisco native who now calls Los Angeles home, Dylan currently appears in the original series The Clan from Reckless Tortuga Productions. Regional theatre credits include: Shakespeare Santa Cruz, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, New Leaf Theatre, Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, American Conservatory Theatre, The National Theatre’s Connections Festival, Apostrof Theatre Festival, as well as seven productions as an original member of the viral sensation, StarKid Productions. Dylan is currently working on his debut solo studio album, “Confluence,” as well as an original sci-fi series, Anamnesis, and the animated series L.Y.K. and Bear, all due for release in late 2013.

This isn’t the only project Dylan has committed himself to recently. Thanks to the Kickstarter project opened up last month, Dylan will also be releasing his debut album Confluence within the coming months.

An exciting year is ahead for StarKid fans!
