Jon Favreau has revealed the time period for his upcoming Star Wars TV series, which breaks new ground in the galaxy far, far away.

Nerdist caught up with Jon Favreau, who will act as showrunner for the as-yet-unnamed series, at the world premiere of Solo: A Star Wars Story. Favreau revealed that his live-action Star Wars TV show (the first of its kind) will take place seven years after the events of Return of the Jedi.

There has been no visual storytelling set in this time period in the Star Wars universe, though Chuck Wendig’s Aftermath trilogy explored the events immediately following the Battle of Endor. Other Star Wars novels and comics have touched on this time as well, but details about the saga’s central characters and political drama are still largely shrouded in mystery.

Favreau also shed a little light on the characters populating this highly-anticipated tale at the premiere. According to The Jungle Book director, motion-capture will be employed to animate several new characters. (No word yet on whether or not major Star Wars heroes or villains will turn up.)

According to Favreau, writing on the live-action Star Wars series is moving along well (about half the scripts are completed, he says). The show will be a centerpiece of Disney’s new streaming service, which is set to take over the world of entertainment in late 2019.

In addition to Favreau’s show, Star Wars Rebels creator Dave Filoni has announced a second animated series focusing on Resistance pilots. There are also several movies in the early stages of production, including trilogies conceived by Rian Johnson and Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss.

In short, you may not actually get to live in the galaxy far, far away, but if you manage your time right, it might feel like you do!
