Disney acquired Lucasfilm and Star Wars late last year, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that their parks arm wants to know how interested guests would be in a Star Wars theme park.

“How interested would you be in visiting a Star Wars themed land at the Disneyland Resort?” asks the survey which was uncovered by Ken Layne (via Slashfilm).

The Disneyland Resort resides in Anaheim, California and is currently home to two theme parks: the original Disneyland, which opened in 1955, and California Adventure, which opened in 2001. The latter park just completed a major $1.1 billion revamp.

Rumors over the past few years have indicated that Disney is looking to build a third park for the resort, but one of the biggest hold ups is space constraints. Disney will have to remove one of its parking lots located blocks from the resort and somehow connect it to the existing two parks. There are also rumors that say this third theme park would involve Marvel, another recent Disney studio acquisition.

Several of Disney’s parks already have Star Wars attractions. Disneyland and Disney World recently re-opened their Star Tours virtual reality attractions which now feature upgraded graphics and alternating story lines.

Do you think a Star Wars land inside a Disney park is the right move for Disney?

Speaking of big-movies-turned-themed parks, following the success of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, rumor has it Universal is working on a Middle Earth (The Lord of the Rings) theme park with the Tolkien family. We reported on the news in January.
