A new video has been released which compares each scene from Star Wars: The Force Awakens to many scenes in A New Hope.

When The Force Awakens hit theaters, fans were instantly greeted with loads of nostalgia due to the fact that the film not only had many scenes which reminded us of A New Hope, but the story was similar as well.

In a video created by filmmaker Zachary Antell, he compares each scene to its counterpart, and it’s actually pretty amazing how many of the scenes from The Force Awakens match A New Hope. The video is titled A New Awakening, and can be seen below.

It’s certainly not a bad thing to use shots from A New Hope, as it was bound to get fans right back into Star Wars-mode, and it worked as the film took in over $2 billion dollars worldwide.

A select few fans did have a problem with director J.J. Abrams seemingly using so many shots and storylines from the previous Star Wars movie, but it’s very hard to argue with the way the film turned out. It was critically well-received and fans were absolutely elated to have Star Wars back up on the big screen.

The video does a great job of showing how Abrams used shots from A New Hope and put his own twist on them, and it gave The Force Awakens a nostalgic feel, while also feeling very fresh as well.

Despite any concerns about the story being too similar to A New Hope, it was one of the best movies to hit theaters in the last 10 years, and the box office numbers ended up proving just how successful Abrams and his team had been.
