Tuesday’s depressing Star Wars: Han Solo spinoff news got us all down, but soon we’ll be able to easily remind ourselves that we believe in the world of Lucasfilm’s standalone Star Wars movies.

Netflix has just announced that Star Wars: Rogue One, the first of what is expected to be many Star Wars spinoffs now that the Mouse House owns the Galaxy, will be released July 18.

Why so soon? Netflix and Disney have a deal in which the streaming site gets first dibs on all of the D’s movies, from Pixar to Lucasfilm to Marvel to Disney Animation. In fact, Moana was just released on Netflix yesterday!

So while we all sweat the news that Phil Lord and Christopher Miller had to leave the Han Solo directors chairs due to serious creative differences with Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy, let’s remember that the Star Wars franchise is always looking out for the final product.

Kathleen Kennedy got Rogue One through a major number of reshoots and the film turned out great, so let’s hope the same success arrives for Han, which is set to be released May 25, 2018. It currently has three weeks of filming left before reshoots.
