It’s a big day for fans of Star Wars Resistance. Not only has Disney announced its renewal, but it also released a new trailer for the show.

In a press release, Disney announced they were picking Star Wars Resistance up for a second season. The show centers around a young man named Kazuda Xiono, or Kaz, a young pilot recruited by the Resistance to spy on the First Order as it grows in power.

Star Wars Resistance takes place about six months prior to The Force Awakens and will return in fall 2019. This is amazing news, especially because in addition to announcing a second season, Disney also released the trailer for the second half of the show’s first season. It looks like things are going to get incredibly intense when the show returns, so we’re glad our adventure won’t end at the end of season 1.

The trailer shows us Kaz watching Hux’s speech which he delivered just prior to destroying the New Republic. And though it seems like the perfect time for Kaz to join up with the Republic in a more direct role–General Organa is even featured in the trailer asking this very thing–Kaz must finish his work liberating the Colussus.

However, the trailer makes it seem as though season 1 will finally wrap up Kaz’s work on the Colussus, and new adventures will be waiting for him. With the show’s second season pickup, we can only imagine what intergalactic thrills will be waiting for Kaz and us when the show returns for a second season.

But for now, we’ll just focus on the show’s season 1B return. Star Wars Resistance will return to the Disney Channel and DisneyNOW on January 13.
