Disney has released 8 brand new adventures in the Forces of Destiny series, featuring some of our favorite characters from the Star Wars universe.

Last year, Disney and Star Wars announced they would be releasing animated shorts called Forces of Destiny to highlight some of the women in the Star Wars saga. 18 episodes were released in the first season, and Disney just kicked off the second season with the release of 8 new episodes. The episodes tell stories of heroes from all across the Star Wars universe, from Rey to Leia, Rose to Padme, and even a story focused on Luke’s training with Yoda on Dagobah.

What is truly great about this series is that regardless of where you love to get your Star Wars stories, be it from the films, the Clone Wars animated series, or Star Wars Rebels, these shorts will feature some of your favorite characters. While some of the episodes tell short stories of adventure, like Hera and Sabine’s short, “Hasty Departure,” which features the two rushing to escape an Imperial base with a shuttle filled with medical supplies, others give really important information to the larger Star Wars canon.

For instance, “Bounty Hunted” is a Leia-focused episode that is set while Han was frozen in carbonite in between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Not only does it show us how Leia gets the idea to sneak into Jabba’s ship as a bounty hunter, but it also lets us know how Leia first meets the delightful Maz Kantana, who we first meet in Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.

And while the stories in Forces of Destiny are usually female-focused, Mark Hamill lends his voice to “The Path Ahead,” a short that follows Luke on Dagobah as he trains with Yoda to become a Jedi. The episode is brief, but it does let us know exactly how Yoda got Luke to carry him around on his backpack during Jedi training. And with Hamill’s voice added to the mix, the episode is a fun one to watch.

You can see the entire second season over at Disney’s YouTube channel. Each episode is under five minutes, so these are fun and fast episodes to engage with.
