With over a week left until The Force Awakens opens in cinemas, some Star Wars fans are already lining up.

Okay, we’ve got a couple of questions right off the bat: Don’t they have jobs? What if it rains? And most importantly, where are they gonna go to the bathroom?

Now that we can stop worrying about these pressing matters, let’s actually figure out what’s going on here.

The Hollywood Reporter writes today that Star Wars fans are already camping out in front of the the TCL Chinese Theater in L.A. — and some of them have been there since December 5!

The eager fans are waiting for the December 17 screening of the much-anticipated Episode VII, but it’s not all for the love of fandom; the organization behind this geek-friendly camping expedition LiningUp.net has partnered with the Starlight Children’s Foundation, and are gathering donations.

The campers are arriving early for another reason: The more hours they log in line, the better their seats in the cinema will be. And this particular cinema is very special to Star Wars fans, as it was where the original Star Wars opened in 1977.

THR spoke to Australian fan Caroline Ritter, who said, “I am a hiker, so I had all of the gear, but the chance to sleep out on the ground in front of the TCL theater, you do not get that very often.”

And, to answer one of our own earlier questions, the Chinese theater allows the fans to use their restrooms. Phew, mystery solved!

Would you line up a week in advance for ‘The Force Awakens’… or any other premiere?
